Forte dei Marmi has always been one of the most important cities on the Versilia coast, the destination where the celebrities are the protagonists, players and singers choose to spend their summer holidays.
What to see

Surely the beach is the first thing that anyone visiting Forte dei Marmi can’t miss. Bathing establishments that offer top services with restaurants by the sea where it is possible to have lunch, dine or wait for the sunset enjoying an aperitif by the sea.

After the sea we suggest you to walk on the storico Pontile, once used to load the ships with marble coming from the Apuan Alps.

Another obligatory stop is the historical center of Forte dei Marmi where you can walk along the pedestrian streets, where you can browse in the windows of high fashion boutiques, have a coffee in one of the historical bars in the center or have dinner in some glamour restaurant.

In the central square it is possible to admire the Fortino, symbol of Forte dei Marmi, where the Museum of Satire and Caricature is located, where it is possible to see more than 4000 original drawings by famous national and international artists.

Surely the best way to visit Forte dei Marmi is on foot. It is possible to arrive and visit the historical center by bicycle or rent it directly on the spot.

When to Visit It
Certainly Forte dei Marmi gives its best in the summer when all the activities are open until late in the evening. But even during the Christmas holidays it is possible to organize a visit that thanks to the Christmas markets makes the old town alive even in winter.

Events

During the summer it is almost impossible not to find an event, an exhibition, a party or a concert. Worthy of note is certainly Villa Bertelli which during the summer period organizes concerts, events and shows of all kinds with national and international artists.

The Market del Forte, every Wednesday morning and every Sunday from Easter to October. The Sant’Ermete Fair on August 28th which opens with a spectacular fire the night before and ends with a fireworks display.
